Giotto. Gorgeous any way you say it.
This week, we received a new shipment of one of our longest-running bestsellers at Loops.
Giotto is a ribbon yarn that is hand-dyed in colorways like no other.

"No, don't make me choose!" she says.
Each hank has great yardage and it knits up super quick. Customers always say the same thing: It's gorgeous! How do you pronounce it? And what can I make with it?
The company that sells it says it's pronounced "zhatto," with a soft "j." I call it "gee-oh-toe." It's named for an Italian painter, so maybe our Italian friends can weigh in on the comments...
As far as what to make with it, I love anything with a dropstitch. The easy dropstitch really shows off the hand-painted beauty of the yarn, which you can see even better when you open up the hanks.

I love it all, but would probably want to make a drop stitch scarf with some fringe from either the golden shades or the pastel shades. They are all beautiful!
The copper color makes me giddy!
I would love to crochet something with it, all the stuff I see with this yarn is knitted... I have a few ideas!!! If I win the yarn I will create a free pattern for Loops, yeah!!!

I love them all! I would probably make a drop stitch scarf or perhaps a sweater or vest. It's so pretty! I would have a very difficult time picking a color! Probably would have to be something "springy"
They are all so pretty! I would definitely like to make a drop stitch scarf out of it with fringe; however, a vest, or cute little sweater would be awesome as well. Would probably go with the orange, light pastel, or golden yarn.

I LOVE the gold and red and.... you GOT IT Giotto! It's difficult to choose just one. Probably the gold. I would make the drop stitch scarf.
The multi colored pinks and purple catch my eye--a scarf would be lovely!

I actually started a drop stitch in another yarn I had in my stash. It wasn't turning out very well so I ripped it back out! I love the aqua colors!
Ah, the Monet makes me think of spring. I would make the Effin Scarf in it.
The yellow is pretty, and I would like to make it into a cowl. Or use it to accent a cloche.

I would pick Giotto 148 Caramel. The last weekend of March, I have a multi event weekend in DC....National Cherry Blossom Festival, my son's wedding & Easter. This would make a perfect Effin scarf to accessorize these events.
