LMKG #3: Alp Oriental Scarf.
This is how you know a last-minute knitted gift is a hit: When you drive through carpool three years after giving your firstborn's teacher a scarf, only now she is your secondborn's teacher, and she is still wearing the same scarf. Like, every day.
I snapped a picture this morning and told her it was for the blog. She said the scarf is getting a little ragged, but she thinks "the more ragged it gets, the cooler it gets."
I think you will agree, she is rockin' it.
This scarf only takes one mega-ball of Alp Oriental. Cast on 120 stitches using a long #17 circular needle. Then just knit every row til you run out of yarn. This genius yarn even comes with its own pre-cut fringe - just pull it through the ends of your scarf with a crochet hook and you're done. All in a couple of hours. In fact, you might want to bookmark this one for December 24th!
